1. True. A crown covers the entire visible portion of a tooth, allowing us to completely reshape it. We can use them to correct issues with function, as well as problems with a tooth’s appearance.
2. True. We first prepare the tooth by removing structure and then taking digital impressions. The impressions and images gathered of the tooth are used in the design and fabrication process, ensuring the completed restoration blends with your smile.
3. True. Using CEREC technology, the doctor takes digital impressions and uploads the information into a computer to design a 3D model of the restoration. This information is then uploaded into the CEREC machine, which mills the tooth from a solid block of ceramic. We use ceramic due to the material’s stain-resistance, strength, and lifelike appearance.
4. True. Caring for your crown means caring for your smile. You should brush your teeth twice daily and always floss before going to bed. We also suggest seeing your dentist every six months for an exam and cleaning, which allows him to monitor your smile and restoration.
