Brent A. Engelberg, D.D.S.
Dr. Brent Engelberg earned a BS in Psychology at Indiana University, and then studied at the Indiana University School of Dentistry, where he earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. After completing dental school, he practiced briefly in Evanston, Illinois before establishing his current practice in Arlington Heights, Illinois, where he serves patients from the Chicago area, including Northbrook, Buffalo Grove, Highland Park, Palatine, Wheeling, Deerfield, Schaumburg, and Barrington.
Dr. Engelberg’s immense passion for cosmetic and restorative dentistry is undeniable, therefore staying up-to-date on advances in dentistry is a top priority. To that end, he obtains more than 100 quality continuing education hours (CE) every year to learn state-of-the-art treatments that both restore tooth function and create beautiful smiles for his patients. This differs substantially from the Illinois State Dental Board requirements of approximately 16 continuing education hours per year. This continuing education is essential to the philosophy of Dr. Engelberg, as dentistry is always changing—and being informed is essential to determine which changes are beneficial (and which are potentially detrimental) to his patients’ dental health.
Dr. Engelberg not only seeks out educational opportunities for himself but also strives to educate other dentists. Dr. Engelberg codirects his multidisciplinary dental study club in the Chicago suburbs, which attracts many local and national speakers. He is widely published in professional dental journals on the subject of esthetics and cosmetic dentistry and teaches other dentists cosmetic procedures through his course, “Total Advantage Live.” This hands-on course provides training for dentists in placing porcelain veneers and crowns, and performing comprehensive cosmetic procedures from diagnosis to delivery.
Dr. Engelberg’s thirst for knowledge and love of education extends to his patients, and he takes great measures to ensure that his patients thoroughly understand their diagnosis and treatment plans, as well as how to maintain their beautiful smiles after they leave his office. Personally, Dr. Engelberg enjoys playing and watching basketball, especially his Indiana Hoosiers, and watching professional football. His passion for classical music is apparent when you first walk through the doors of his practice—this music is always playing. In addition, he is an avid landscape enthusiast, and enjoys photography of all kinds. Of course, Dr. Engelberg’s favorite activity is to spend time with his wife Megan, son Charlie, and twin daughters Emma and Laney.
Gosia Barczak brings over 12 years of experience in the field of dentistry, and has collaborated with Dr. Engelberg on over 250 cosmetic cases. Gosia has attended courses from multiple dentists in the field of cosmetic dentistry, occlusion, bonding, esthetics, treatment planning, and case presentation. Gosia also educates other dental assistants and team members on cosmetic dental assisting procedures at Dr. Engelberg’s clinical teaching course, Total Advantage Live. Gosia’s enthusiasm and ability to relate to patients and make them feel welcome in Dr. Engelberg’s practice is something that very few dental assistants are able to master–yet gosia thrives in this capacity. Gosia’s outstanding clinical knowledge, coupled with her positive attitude, allows her to operate several steps ahead of what is going on clinically at any given moment in Dr. Engelberg’s practice.
